Automation Engineer

Salary: $115,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent related work or military experience.
• We require at least 2 years of engineering experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing, or a related area.
• We require experience with Microsoft Office.
• We require experience in an AS9100 or ISO9001 production environment.
• Experience in third-party logistics (3PL) is preferred.
• Experience with warehouse automation systems such as Geek+, GTP, AMRs, ASRS, or similar technologies is preferred.
• A strong background in industrial engineering, facility design, labor management, and continuous improvement is preferred.
• Customer-facing experience with operational performance reviews, project proposals, and business case development is preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma, APICS, or related certifications are preferred.

• We own the performance, throughput, and reliability of a Geek+ Goods-to-Person automation system in a 24/7 distribution environment.
• We lead and support a 24/7 maintenance organization, including technician training, uptime monitoring, repair coordination, preventative maintenance planning, spare parts inventory, contractor oversight, and vendor support management.
• We partner with Geek+ to design and roll out continuous improvement efforts, including order prioritization, task strategy optimization, bin error skip logic, grid zoning enhancements, and other system performance upgrades.
• We serve as the primary customer-facing engineering contact, communicating downtime events, presenting improvement ideas, and building business cases that show operational and financial value.
• We analyze inventory profiles and develop approaches to move high-velocity SKUs out of the automation system when it makes operational sense through alternative storage, picking, and counting solutions.
• We develop processes and controls for specialized, high-value inventory with elevated shrink and liability risk.
• We lead facility layout and material flow improvements across automation, consolidation, and packing operations to improve safety, inventory control, and productivity.
• We drive site-wide 6S and operational excellence initiatives aligned with GXO standards.
• We conduct detailed time studies, labor analyses, and productivity assessments to establish labor standards, improve efficiency, and support customer rate justifications.
• We lead cross-functional projects focused on safety, quality, service, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
