Assistant Professor of Sociology

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Sociology City: West Lafayette Job Summary The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate Sociology courses that involve and relate to AI, and contribute to the intellectual life of their units through research. They will expand the capacity to explore the implications of AI across multiple academic domains and advance Sociology research and educational initiatives surrounding AI in new and important ways. The role includes in‑person teaching in the university’s innovative, nationally‑recognized Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program. Qualifications Ph.D. in Sociology with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (including machine learning and computational data science), or a closely related field, or foreign equivalent. Record of publishing high‑quality, peer‑reviewed research. Ability to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship (e.g., H‑1B, TN, E‑3, O‑1). Requirements Background check required for employment. FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime). Retirement eligibility: Defined contributions waiting period.
