LEAD ACCOUNTANT

DutiesHelpCommunicates the organization's mission, vision, and values to the team and ensures they are integrated into team goals, objectives, work plans, products and services.Balances workload by making adjustments to ensure full team participation, desired results are achieved and timely accomplishment of the work based on supervisor's instructions.Designs, adapts, revises, and evaluates accounting reports, procedures, and operations encompassing multiple financial management/accounting systems and all DoD component activities.Analyzes operating procedures to identify areas of potential non-compliance; explains discrepancies; and provides authoritative policy interpretation to ensure modification of existing operations to comply with regulations.Develops detailed reports of impact of changes and coordinates with higher authorities to provide input into policy development, and to ensure the consistent and accurate interpretation and application of policy system-wide.Examines internal control systems to ensure that systems provide for the integrity, accuracy, and validity of reported financial data.
