Overview
ICU Registered Nurse travel assignment in Rochester, NY starting 07/06/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,025–$2,132 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0 per week. Shift: 12-hour shifts. Setting: acute-care, level II step-down/PCU with telemetry and high-acuity neuro and stroke care.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for high-acuity neuro and neurosurgery patients in a step-down/PCU environment, with telemetry monitoring.
- Perform frequent neuro assessments (Q1 checks) and respond to changes in clinical status; communicate findings to the care team.
- Manage complex lines and drains (including EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains) and arterial lines; monitor and titrate relevant IV infusions (e.g., 3% NS, Cardene) per orders.
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, and ensure safe, evidence-based care in accordance with established standards.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team; may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member as assigned; contribute to handoffs and care coordination.
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record; participate in quality improvement activities and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements
- RN license—New York (active)
- Minimum two (2) years of RN experience
- Must have step-down/PCU experience; high-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform Q1 neuro checks, manage EVDs/lumbar/subdural drains, arterial lines, and relevant neurocritical care procedures
- Ability to work in a high-acuity neuro/step-down environment and to function as part of a coordinated team
