Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Traveling Physical Therapist Opportunity

Provide patient-centered rehabilitation services as a traveling Physical Therapist in Northport, AL at a hospital setting. You will evaluate, develop and implement individualized plans of care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, deliver therapeutic interventions, document care according to department standards, and support inpatient and acute patient populations including geriatric, neurological, stroke, and amputation cases. This role requires physical presence onsite and frequent physical activity including lifting, transferring, and mobility assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy required.
• Current Alabama Physical Therapist license required. Must maintain active status in good standing with the state board.
• AHA BLS or Red Cross CPR required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred; will consider 18 months of experience when working under the highest level of professional license. Must have at least 1 year of experience in the specialty field (inpatient/acute care, neurological, stroke, amputation, or geriatric populations).
• Experience managing inpatient and acute caseloads, performing evaluations, developing plans of care, delivering therapeutic interventions, and completing required documentation.
• Ability to enter patient and treatment data into electronic systems and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to perform frequent physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 100 lbs occasionally), transferring, and ambulation.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to human bodily fluids and potential infectious materials and use common protective equipment.
• Must be reliable, detail oriented, and able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Must be able to float to other units as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional licenses in OT or SLP preferred.
• Prior experience working with stroke, neurological, and amputation patients preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 08:00–16:30.
• One weekend required per month.
• Holidays as required.
• Caseload expectation: approximately 6 patients per day.
• Must float to other units as needed.
