Forklift OperatorI. Forklift OperationSafe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments. Must be alert and pay attention to surroundings at all times.Unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn them in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required).Stage and stack all products square and straight according to the requirements provided by each specific account and by the procedures.Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations.Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading.Load all outbound orders following load diagrams that are specific to the product being shipped and the trailer limitations the product goes into.Must be able to change the forklift battery or propane tank as required.II. Safety and SecurityAttend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate.Complete and turn in daily forklift safety check list.Cut and remove seals from railcars, trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and eye protection.All outside carrier drivers must be accompanied by a Biagi Bros employee. Stop/report any non-personnel wandering through the facility.Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are closed at breaks and lunches and secure at the end of each shift.III. HousekeepingPerform all housekeeping duties to support food grade warehouse requirements including: sweeping and mopping if necessary, sweeping and picking up debris in trailers, containers, railcars and warehouse floor. Plus, sweeping exterior docks and picking up broken glass, seals, and debris.Dispose of garbage using dock or self-dumping hoppers only.Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines.IV. Inventory ControlPerform bi-monthly, periodic, and/or annual inventories as directed by the accounts Biagi Bros service.Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management.Report any inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse managers found during day-to-day operations.Report/document any damage found during unloading process or found later in location through use of designated forms.V. Other dutiesAssist in all areas as needed.Support beer, glass, and wine repack projects.Other duties as assigned by management.Regular attendance is mandatory.VI. Communication/ProfessionalismRepresent Company appropriately in relationship with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers.Perform any other related duties assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Candidates for this position must have successful work performance demonstrating an ability to follow instructions, safely and effectively operate propane forklift equipment and designed attachments, communicate effectively, be good with numbers, work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment, and meet or exceed attendance requirements.2 years of forklift experience in a warehouse environment.Experience with inventory control and cycle counts.Sound communication skills, must be able to communicate in English: positive, appropriate, and professional.2 - 5 years warehouse/distribution experience (3PL preferred).Must be able to work with the warehouse management system, apply scanning practices and be able to perform various inventory transactions within the system. Must have basic computer skills.Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
