This role serves as the Foundation’s primary grant writing expert, managing a portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities.* Reporting to the Senior Director of Event Engagement, the Senior Grant Writer also provides direct oversight of the Junior Grant Writer and coordinates the annual grants pipeline, ensuring strategic alignment, timely submissions, and consistent revenue performance.* This is a senior-level role requiring strong leadership, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to translate clinical, community, and campaign priorities into compelling and fundable proposals.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities****Grant Strategy & Annual Planning*** Develop and execute a comprehensive annual grants plan aligned with Foundation priorities, campaign goals, and programmatic needs.* Build and manage a strategic calendar of grant opportunities, deadlines, and submissions.* Identify, qualify, and prioritize foundation, corporate, and government funding sources.* Establish annual grant revenue goals and monitor progress against targets.**Proposal Development & Writing*** Lead the development of high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding requests.* Translate complex clinical programs, capital priorities, and community health initiatives into compelling narratives.* Partner with program, finance, and development leaders to gather data, budgets, and outcomes required for submissions.* Ensure all proposals are tailored, strategic, and aligned with funder priorities.**Team Leadership & Coordination*** Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and workflow management for the Junior Grant Writer.* Delegate assignments and ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to deadlines across all grant submissions.* Establish templates, processes, and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of grant writing functions.* Coordinate cross-team inputs to ensure seamless execution of the grants pipeline.**Stewardship, Reporting & Compliance*** Oversee all grant reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports and outcomes.* Track grant deliverables, deadlines, and funding outcomes in collaboration with development operations.* Ensure compliance with all funder requirements, including documentation, recognition, and restricted fund management.* Support stewardship strategies to strengthen funder relationships and drive renewals.**Cross-Functional Collaboration*** Partner closely with the Events & Engagement team to align grant opportunities with sponsorships, signature events, and community-facing initiatives.* Collaborate with major gift officers to coordinate institutional funding strategies alongside individual giving opportunities.* Work with CRM/data and finance teams to track revenue, reporting, and impact metrics.* Support campaign planning by identifying and positioning institutional funding opportunities.**Leadership & Continuous Improvement*** Serve as an internal subject matter expert on grant strategy and writing.* Continuously refine grant processes, templates, and pipeline management practices.* Stay informed on trends in healthcare philanthropy and institutional giving.* Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative, and revenue-focused development culture.**Required Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree required.* 5+ years of professional grant writing experience, preferably in healthcare, higher education, or nonprofit organizations.* Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure grants.* Experience managing projects, timelines, and multiple concurrent submissions.* Strong leadership ability with experience supervising or coordinating junior staff or contributors.* Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.* Healthcare philanthropy or academic medical center experience.* Familiarity with CRM systems and grant tracking tools.* Experience working in campaign or capital funding environments.**Core Competencies*** Strategic planning and execution* Leadership and accountability* Exceptional written communication* Project and pipeline management* Collaboration and influence* Attention to detail and accuracy* Discretion and donor confidentiality**Work Environment & Schedule*** Primarily office-based with some flexibility.* Occasional evening or weekend hours related to events or major initiatives.## ## **Shift**First Shift## ## **Time Type**Full time## ## **Scheduled Weekly Hours**40## ## ## **Cost Center**9105 Bronson Health Foundation (BHG) #J-18808-Ljbffr
