Join our global community of over 200,000 dedicated employees around the world in driving the transformation of the eyewear and eyecare industry.General FunctionThe Sr. Accountant participates in all lease accounting activities supporting Luxottica North AmericaMajor Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for various lease-based accounting activities (e.g. accruals/deferrals, lease valuations, sales based rent, etc.)Completes month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g. recording / approving journal entries, performing variance analysis, etc.)Interacts with accounting partners in North America and across the worldPrepares/reviews reconciliations for various balance sheet accountsAnalyzes balances to ensure they are accurateCommunicates unreconciled items to managementEnsures compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley regulationsWorks directly with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviewsProactively identifies and implements process improvements as necessaryCompletes special project work as assignedBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of comparable experienceStrong Accounting backgroundStrong critical thinking and analytical skillsIn-depth understanding of internal controls and segregation of dutiesAdvanced MS ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSolid organizational and multi-tasking skillsDemonstrate willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problemsDemonstrate the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goalsAbility to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusionSearch for opportunities to grow, improve and innovateAbility to build strong business relationships in a team environmentPreferred QualificationsMBACPASAP experience
