Exciting Opportunity for Night Shift Registered Nurse!

Job Description:


- Shift: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Start: ASAP
- Positions Available: 1
- Guaranteed Hours: Full Time


- Required Certifications/Licenses:
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS Certification from AHA
- ACLS Certification from AHA
- PALS Certification from AHA
- TNCC or ATCN required
- CPI/De-Escalation preferred


- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On Call Requirement: Voluntary
- Floating Requirement: Yes, as helping hands during low census
- EMR Used: EPIC
- Dress Code: Pewter/Charcoal grey scrubs


- Summary of the Role:
- You will be a critical clinical practitioner coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units.
- Ensure quality care is delivered efficiently and safely in accordance with the unit's standards of care.
- Exhibit performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.


- Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Obtain and record initial assessments; establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Reassess patient systems systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients within established timeframes.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on facts and evaluations of patient outcomes; modify plans of care as needed.
- Actively participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluate and adjust the plan of care as necessary.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.


- Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
- Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care.
- Clear and concise communication, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.


- Experience:
- All newly hired nurses with two or less years of experience will be hired at CNI status.
- Consideration for a higher clinical ladder level (levels II and III only) may be based on relevant experience, nursing certifications, and additional nursing education (B.S.N. and MSN).
