Value Stream Leader - Second Shift

Location: US-AZ-TUCSON-864 ~ 1151 E Hermans Rd ~ BLDG 864 (External Site) Position Role Type: Onsite Contact the Value Stream Lead (VSL) is accountable for all manufacturing related activities within a production or depot-manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report to a Value Stream Manager and manage up to 20+ touch labor employees on the second shift. Responsibilities include defining operational schedules, managing quality and cost performance, ensuring a safe working environment, communicating with bargaining unit workforce, and collaborating with planning, engineering, quality, and other Value Stream Leaders across shifts. The VSL will also coordinate sequencing, scheduling, and reporting tasks to meet productivity, quality, and contractual delivery requirements. What You Will Do: Interface and interact with site Leadership Schedule, quality, and cost performance management of assigned work areas Provide required resources (facilities, processes, equipment, training, etc.) to ensure employees work safely Communicate customer and site requirements to bargaining unit workforce Interface with support employees including planning, engineering, quality and other Value Stream Leaders across shifts Manage and lead up to 20+ touch personnel Perform a wide variety of sequencing, planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow Prioritize project issues and aid in resolution to meet productivity, quality, and organizational goals and contractual delivery requirements Ensure compliance with operating procedures, directives, and work instructions Security Clearance required: Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret level) and U.S. citizenship. Qualifications You Must Have: University degree or equivalent experience, with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience Experience in manufacturing or operations Supervisory or managerial experience Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret level) and U.S. citizenship Qualifications We Prefer: Material resource planning experience within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Expected at Complete, IMDS, TMSS) Understanding of an operations environment (TAKT, line balancing, value stream mapping) Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and/or implementation Knowledge of Bargaining Unit Agreement & compliance Strong knowledge of production control concepts including WIP management and Takt Understanding of Estimate at Completion (EAC) process and Hours Per Unit (HPU) What We Offer: Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD Benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays Eligibility for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs (based on level and collective‑bargaining agreement) Not relocation eligible – relocation assistance not available We Are RTX As part of our commitment to a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select interview steps in‑person at an RTX office location regardless of role designation.
