Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, you will help coordinate activities, monitor progress, and ensure that work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your responsibilities will include maintaining project plans, schedules, risk registers, action logs, and status reports; arranging meetings and preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions; and coordinating communication between internal teams, clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. You will assist with tracking budgets, purchase orders, invoices, resources, and project documentation, while identifying potential delays, issues, and risks and escalating them appropriately. You will also support the preparation of progress updates, presentations, forecasts, and project close-out documentation, ensuring that records are accurate, current, and accessible. The successful candidate will have experience supporting projects, programmes, or operational workstreams, ideally within a structured or regulated environment. You should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project scheduling or collaboration tools, is required. A relevant qualification in project management, business, construction, engineering, or a related discipline would be advantageous, as would knowledge of recognised project management methodologies.
