HSE Coordinator

Assist in the overall supervision and administration of project safety Coordinate project safety efforts to prevent accidents and injuries Communicate project safety conditions to the HSE Manager, HSE Director, and project supervision Develop and conduct field safety orientation training Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions daily for regulatory compliance and safe work practices Observe workers’ use of prescribed safety equipment Inspect fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices Test work areas for hazard exposures such as noise and toxic substances Prepare daily reports with findings and corrective-action recommendations Investigate accidents to establish root causes and recommend preventive safety measures Document accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behavior Assist with development of JSAs, the corporate SHMP, and project-specific safety plans Conduct weekly safety meetings and instruct workers on safety practices and requirements Demonstrate equipment use and conduct safety training Requirements 5 years of construction experience 1 year of experience as an on-site safety person OSHA 30hr card for the Construction Industry Completed First Aid, CPR, and AED training Specialized training relevant to scope of work Working knowledge of safety regulations and hazard control methods Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and willing to tackle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles Ability to climb stairs Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds Preferred: Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in project safety supervision, regulatory compliance, and hazard control methods, with a strong focus on effective communication and training in safety practices. Proficient in conducting safety inspections, accident investigations, and developing safety plans tailored to construction environments.
