USPI South Texas Specialty Hospital is seeking a motivated Full-Time Pharmacist to join our team. We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.Job Summary: The Pharmacist is responsible for daily operations, personnel management and regulatory compliance of pharmacy services for Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio when on duty without the Director being present. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Pharmacist communicates the needs of the department to The Director of the Department and collaborates with medical staff regarding prescriptive issues and therapy recommendations. The Pharmacist supports management team in meeting facility goals.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices.Provides appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients both in the outpatient clinic as well as the main facility; may include patient medication counseling prior to admission or dischargeMaintains continuing education to provide evidence based pharmaceutical care for all patients, including pharmacokinetic and pharmacotherapy servicesInitiates and/or participates in department process improvement as determined by the Director of PharmacyHas a working knowledge of department processes in order to facilitate technical and clinical problem resolutionOversees tasks of pharmacy technicians on a daily basisCreates and maintains good working relationships with staff and vendors at the main facility as well as the outpatient facilityProvides on call pharmacy services as determined by the Director of PharmacyManages and completes other duties as assigned.#USP-123#LI-CM1Required Skills:Qualifications:One year hospital pharmacy experienceBachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, required.PharmD, preferredCurrent Texas Registered Pharmacist (RPh) licenseIV Certification preferredRequired Experience:
