Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses and treats all the common orthopedic surgical conditions, including surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
• Participates in afterhours call schedule and possesses the ability to respond promptly in emergent situations.
• Responsible for seeing patients in consultation in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provides care of the Veterans' medical needs by performing examination, surgical consultation, and developing treatment and follow-up plans.
• Provides ongoing patient and family education throughout the course of treatment.
• Adheres to policies and procedures regarding the completion of all required orders, operation/procedure notes/reports, discharge summaries, progress notes, clinical reminders, all other required medical documentation, and performance measures in a timely fashion.
• Ensures the most effective delivery of care, while meeting and exceeding compliance, Joint Commission, and VA Central Office performance measure standards.
• Mentors, trains, and provide supervision for residents and mid-levels in all aspects of their duties as required.
• Performs other directly related duties as required.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Work Schedule: Intermittent. Additional information may be provided during the interview process.
