Details 27-bed General Medicine Unit caring for patients with respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal conditions Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00) Every other weekend required Typical patient ratio of 1:5 Must float within scope of practice per facility policy Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active RN license (VA or Compact) required; pending license accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred BSN preferred Epic charting system experience required Clinical skills required include chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), tracheostomy care, heparin protocols, PCA management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, and renal failure management Additional Information Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, with all time off disclosed at submission Block scheduling cannot be accommodated Travelers must have at least 1 year of separation from previous UVA Health employment as permanent staff or internal travelers, with leadership approval required External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached No radius restriction applies to this unit American Traveler Job ID P-748052.
