Accounting Specialist

Performs a wide range of accounting and clerical functions as assigned. Must represent the agency in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate the following characteristics: work independently, without close supervision, possess analytical skills, be detail oriented and have a conceptual understanding of the agency's accounting structure and make decisions accordingly. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED At least 18 years of age Possess a valid driver's license Excellent driving record Ability to pass background screening Ability to pass drug screening Possess a working telephone (this requirement reflects the fact that many positions rely on a timekeeping application to record work hours) Reliable transportation Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting plus prior accounting experience. (Extensive accounting experience may be substituted for degree). Must possess analytical skills, be detail oriented and have a conceptual understanding of the agency's accounting structure and make decisions accordingly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to read, write, and speak English well Must be computer literate and have the ability to use different types of software. Must possess understanding of accounting procedures and methods. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to balance, climb, bend, stoop, reach, and kneel Have use of arms, hands, and fingers Lift up to 25 lbs.
