Company Description The North Texas Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit, outpatient facility with a 74-year history of serving children and adults with disabilities across 23 counties in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Established in 1948, the Center provides comprehensive medical and educational rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities resulting from birth defects, injuries, diseases, strokes, and other Classification: Development/Marketing for NTRC and NTRC Foundation-Exempt Position Summary The Development Director provides leadership and strategic direction for the fundraising, development, marketing, and community engagement efforts of North Texas Rehabilitation Center and the North Texas Rehabilitation Center Foundation. This position is responsible for growing philanthropic support for the organization through donor cultivation and stewardship, major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, special events, and other development initiatives. The Development Director also oversees the Marketing Department and oversees NTRC’s marketing, communications, public relations, and community awareness efforts. This position ensures that fundraising and marketing strategies work together to strengthen the organization’s visibility, relationships, reputation, and long-term sustainability. The Development Director works closely with the President/CEO, Foundation leadership, Board members, staff, donors, sponsors, community partners, and other stakeholders to advance the mission of North Texas Rehabilitation Center. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement annual and long-term fundraising strategies that support organizational priorities. Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major gift prospects, planned giving, corporate partners, foundations, and other supporters. Identify opportunities to grow philanthropic support and expand the organization’s donor base. Lead major gift initiatives, capital campaigns, annual giving efforts, sponsorships, and other fundraising campaigns. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective donors and community partners. Develop meaningful donor stewardship and recognition strategies. Work with leadership and Board members to identify, cultivate, and engage prospective donors. Grants & Foundation Support Identify grant opportunities that align with organizational needs and priorities. Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals, applications, and reports. Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure grant requirements, reporting deadlines, and funding expectations are met. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for NTRC and Foundation fundraising events and campaigns. Guide event and marketing staff responsible for event planning, sponsorships, donor engagement, logistics, promotion, and execution. Evaluate fundraising events and initiatives based on revenue, expenses, donor engagement, community impact, and long-term development potential. Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow existing fundraising events while developing new revenue opportunities when appropriate. Marketing, Communications & Public Relations Provide leadership and oversight for the NTRC Marketing Department and marketing staff. Develop and oversee the organization’s overall marketing and communications strategy. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across NTRC programs, fundraising initiatives, events, digital platforms, advertising, media, and community outreach. Oversee organizational social media, website content, advertising, promotional materials, publications, email communications, and other marketing efforts. Coordinate media opportunities, interviews, press releases, organizational announcements, and public-facing communications. Identify opportunities to increase awareness of NTRC services, programs, impact, fundraising efforts, and community presence. Ensure patient/client stories, donor impact stories, and organizational successes are communicated effectively and appropriately. Work collaboratively with departments throughout NTRC to support program marketing and community awareness. Community Relations & Strategic Partnerships Serves as a representative of NTRC and the Foundation throughout the community. Develop and strengthen relationships with businesses, civic organizations, healthcare partners, foundations, donors, sponsors, media partners, and other community stakeholders. Represents NTRC at community events, meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities. Identify strategic partnerships that increase awareness, philanthropic support, referrals, and community engagement. Leadership & Staff Management Lead, supervise, and support staff within the Development and Marketing functions. Establish priorities, responsibilities, goals, and expectations for team members. Provide guidance and professional development to staff while encouraging collaboration and accountability. Coordinate development and marketing activities to ensure resources are used strategically and organizational priorities are supported. Work collaboratively with NTRC leadership and departments across the organization. Donor Data, Budgets & Reporting Monitor fundraising revenue, expenses, pledges, sponsorships, grants, and campaign progress. Oversee appropriate donor database/CRM management and donor records. Track fundraising and marketing performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist in developing and managing budgets related to development, fundraising events, campaigns, and marketing. Prepare development and marketing updates, reports, and presentations for the President/CEO, Foundation leadership, and Boards as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, nonprofit management, business, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred. Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, development, marketing, public relations, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. Demonstrated experience building relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners, and other stakeholders. Experience with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship development, grant writing, special events, and/or donor stewardship. Experience leading staff, projects, campaigns, or organizational initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deadlines, and relationships simultaneously. Experience working with nonprofit Boards, volunteers, and community partners preferred.
