Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to oversee a busy retail outpatient pharmacy within a critical access hospital setting in Iowa. This role begins on 9/14 and is expected to last approximately 13 weeks, covering the pharmacy until a permanent manager is hired.

Located in a 340B retail pharmacy, the site fills around 140 prescriptions daily, operating Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pharmacy team includes one pharmacist and two technicians, with limited on-call responsibilities. The pharmacy uses the Pioneer computer system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficient, patient-focused service
• Oversee prescription dispensing consistent with safety and regulatory standards
• Support pharmacy staff, maintaining high-quality workflow and team collaboration
• Ensure compliance with 340B program requirements and hospital policies
• Maintain inventory control and liaise with suppliers as needed
• Potentially provide on-call support on a rare basis

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience as a retail pharmacy manager with strong leadership skills
• Familiarity with 340B pharmacy operations is preferable
• Active Iowa pharmacist license or eligibility for temporary licensure
• Ability to commit full-time to the assignment duration
• Competence with pharmacy computer systems; experience with Pioneer is ideal
