SQL Server DBA

Job Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in enterprise SQL Server database administration and infrastructure modernization.

• Proficiency in Azure Cloud database solutions including SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, and SQL on Azure VMs.

• Experience with the full Microsoft BI stack encompassing SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS in both hybrid and cloud-native environments.

• Experience in planning and executing complex legacy migration projects from SQL Server 2012 to version 2022.

• Experience with designing and implementing high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise security protocols.

• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for advanced performance tuning, monitoring, and maintenance.

• Excellent communication and mentorship skills for delivering technical roadmaps and conducting team knowledge transfer.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the comprehensive assessment of the current SQL Server engine and BI stack across on-premises and Azure platforms.

• Architect and implement modernization strategies for transitioning legacy workloads to Azure SQL Managed Instance and PaaS.

• Execute technical version upgrades from SQL Server 2012 to 2022 while ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

• Standardize database configurations and consolidation efforts to improve global operational efficiency and reduce technical debt.

• Optimize hybrid database performance through proactive tuning, indexing, and resource management across disparate environments.

• Establish enterprise-wide best practices for disaster recovery, backup/restore cycles, and cloud security compliance.

• Partner with internal engineering teams to provide hands-on technical guidance and strategic architectural reviews.
