THE POSITION Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology the incumbent is responsible for administration, analysis and support activities associated with the network, IT systems and infrastructure. Performance is measured by timeliness and accuracy of completed work. The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Provide system administration to network servers and infrastructure, Firewall, Exchange Server, Email Appliance Filter, databases, malware protection software, and other systems and processes; Provide daily system monitoring and respond to security or usability concerns; Create and verify backups of data; Respond, resolve, and document help desk requests; update all documentation as it relates to system administration; Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution; Provide management, configuration and operation of PBX system; Provide design and installation of LANs, WANs, Internet and Intranet systems, and network segments; Call various software/hardware technical support resources, and work in a timely fashion to resolve issues; Notify vendors when equipment needs to be repaired and/or obtain vendor return authorizations while keeping records; Responsible to work as needed if the company’s systems are experiencing critical issues that may impact the business operations; May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: AA or AS degree in Computer Science or IT or completion of a recognized system administrator certification or equivalent Experience: Three (3) years of system administration or related experience Licensing and Other Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License. Must pass a post-offer background check and drug/alcohol test as a condition of employment. SUPERVISORIAL DUTIES None ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES Experience installing computer software and equipment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsible to come to work on time and as scheduled. Overtime and/or weekend work is required if the job dictates it is necessary. Exceptional communication and customer service skills and enjoy working with people. Works well in a team environment which includes distributed team members. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong organization and time management skills. Work is performed within a broad framework of general policy. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee: Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing in a standard office setting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen with ability to adjust focus; May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in an office setting which is well-lit, ventilated, and temperature controlled. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
