Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years critical care experience required License: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. CRT not accepted. Must-Have: - Critical care experience to work in a high-volume emergency room and trauma center - Proficient in aerosol and medication delivery systems, including mask, trach, MDI, and Medihaler - Skilled in administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, and more - Competent in arterial blood gas interpretation and ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC - Experienced in airway management, including extubation and tracheostomy care Description: The role requires working as a Respiratory Therapist in an adult care setting. Experience in critical care is essential, particularly in high-volume emergency environments. You will manage patients with neurotrauma, cardiovascular conditions, and those in medical/surgical ICU. The position includes the administration of various aerosolized medications and therapies. You must be proficient in ventilator management and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms. Airway management responsibilities will encompass extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with varying medical diagnoses. The work environment features robust protocols for assessment and treatment, including ventilator management. You will utilize advanced equipment and technologies in the respiratory services. Regular weekend work is required, with potential for floating among teams within your area of expertise. All requests for time off must be made in advance. Documentation and reporting will be done using an electronic health record system. Working one holiday per contract is mandatory. The team functions with a high patient-to-staff ratio, emphasizing efficient and quality care delivery. Candidates must possess a willingness to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.
