Application Window Open date: September 16, 2026 Next review date: Friday, Oct 16, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Oct 16, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The UCLA School of Dentistry invites applications for the position of Assistant Project Scientist, in the Division of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Section of Restorative Dentistry, beginning on or about November 1, 2026. This is a paid, 100% time, non-Senate, non-tenure track position. A PhD degree and a minimum of 4 years of post-graduate level laboratory research experience is required for this position. Appointment level and compensation rate will be commensurate with experience. The selected candidate will report directly to a senior faculty member in the Section of Restorative Dentistry and indirectly to the Chair of that Division/Section and will assist with and perform experiments pertaining to research projects related to oral diseases including medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw and implant presence-triggered osteonecrosis. The candidate must be able to perform animal experiment including tail-vein injection, uCT scanning/analysis, and immunohistochemical staining/analysis independently. The candidate should have experience with placing dental implants in mouse. Prior experiences with clinical trial studies are highly desired, and the candidate should have experiences with manuscript writing as well as grant writing with successful acquirement.
