The Rothswell Agency LLC is, amongst others, a New York property and casualty insurance agency. We are building a book of personal and commercial accounts with producers who own their client relationships and are paid directly for the revenue they bring in.

The Role

We are hiring a senior commercial lines producer to write, renew and grow a book of business accounts for small and mid-sized businesses in New York.

Responsibilities

·       Write and renew commercial lines accounts, including general liability, commercial property, business owners policies, workers' compensation, commercial auto, umbrella and professional liability.

·       Prepare submissions and marketing packages for carriers and wholesale markets.

·       Review loss runs, applications and exposures, and structure coverage to fit each client.

·       Serve clients across industries such as contractors, restaurants, real estate and professional services.

·       Prospect and build referral relationships in the New York metropolitan area.

·       Keep client records accurate and current in the agency management system.

Qualifications

·       At least 5 years of property and casualty insurance experience, with a focus on commercial lines production or account management.

·       Working knowledge of commercial underwriting and carrier appetites, including excess and surplus markets.

·       Experience preparing submissions and analyzing loss runs and applications.

·       A track record of new business production and client retention.

·       Active New York property and casualty producer license, or the ability to obtain it before your start date.

·       Proficiency in an agency management system (for example Applied Epic or AMS360).

Compensation

·       Base salary: $80,000 to $92,000 per year, W2, based on experience and book of business. The range is the range the agency in good faith expects to pay for this role.

·       Senior producer profit share: senior producers receive 50% of all revenue they generate for the agency. The calculation, payment schedule and definitions are set out in the producer agreement.

·       Paid training and trial period: before W2 employment begins, candidates complete a one-month structured training program and a one-month trial period, each paid at [$2,000 net] per month. W2 employment and base salary begin after the trial period.
