Director, Global Business Management, GCM - 108861 Full Time Location: USA - VIRTUAL - US California Purpose of the role Ensure growth and business retention Ensure and increase profitability Defend share of wallet in CL Building a trustful relationship with Customer WW Procurement Global Commercial Face to Customer Main contact for GCM Sr Leadership Key Responsibilities Strategic Spearheads the conceptualization and negotiation of new Global Commercial Framework Develops innovative strategies to improve profitability and reduce commercial risk Owns rate card roadmap incl. commercial strategy and negotiation of renewals and re‑pricings Responsible for commercialization of Global Strategic Programs such as DC Optimization (MOST), DC Data Foundation, DC Automation and others Accountable for the development, preparation and negotiation of CL pricing, tenders and RFP responses in co‑operation with regional business management leads, P&L owners, SD and GAD Driver of innovation for all commercial aspects, business reporting, proposals, etc. Key contributor to Strategic Account Plan and execution of account strategy Directs the regional business management leads and serves as escalation point Serves as lead negotiator for contractual negotiations in compliance with contractual framework Customer relationships Primary customer interface to Customer’s WW Head of DC Procurement Primary interface to Customer’s Procurement in AMR region & secondary in APAC and EMEIA regions Team & DSV Leads the Business Management team within the Customer GCM account (2-3 FTE) Secures alignment and agreement with CL P&L owners for all CL proposals Partners with the GCM Head, GAD, Account Exec and Account Sponsor to ensure alignment with wider company customer strategy P/L & KPIs P/L Responsible for account P/L Retaining and improving revenue and profitability in collaboration with Country P&L owners, GCM Head and GAD KPIs Annual sustain / growth of revenue Annual growth of EBIT (total and %) Defend Share of wallet Plan for loss‑making sites Skills & Abilities Education & Experience A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Logistics or equivalent fields is required A minimum of 10 years logistics operations management experience and/or commercial/business development experience with "big box", e‑commerce or specialty retailers or 3PL company Computer Skills Strong proficiency in MS Office applications is needed Working knowledge of industry WMS Certificates & Licenses None Language Skills English (reading, writing, and verbal) Mathematical Skills Intermediate mathematical, accounting, and financial skills Other Skills Excellent verbal, written and visual/presentation communication skills Must be adept at navigating within a matrixed organizational structure Results-oriented and able to work and meet timelines Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task Demonstrated ability to work in a complex matrix environment across multiple levels within the organization Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve Ability to question and challenge existing ways of thinking Experience in a "client-centric" environment with accountability for both operations metrics and client relations Must excel at and enjoy teaming with members of the operations team and client representatives to trouble‑shoot and solve existing problems Direct experience preparing budgets and actively participating in financial reviews with a solid understanding of standard and actual cost variances Has led high‑performing teams; can recruit, develop and motivate superior talent Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required Integration experience with the supply chain industry is helpful Preferred Qualifications Education and/or Experience Master’s degree preferred Third‑party logistics experience is preferred but not required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Involvement in relevant professional organizations is desirable Physical Demands Frequently – Sitting / Bending / Walking and Standing; Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull up to 21‑50 pounds; Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel. Other Physical Requirements: while performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel frequently by plane and automobile. Compensation and Benefits For this position, the expected base pay range is $145,000 - $160,000 USD annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
