CAD Drafter/Designer

Job Summary

The Mechanical Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating layouts and designs for all company products. This role involves processing custom-engineered crane and fall protection systems to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Measure and reverse-engineer existing production fixtures and jigs.
• Draw specification documentation for existing fixtures and jigs.
• Create scaled drawings within the proper company title blocks required for fabrication or purchasing using AutoCAD or SolidWorks software.
• Check own work for quality.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Engineering Manager to accomplish project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in general engineering drafting techniques, terminology, geometry, methods, and practices.
• Ability to use basic metrology equipment (e.g., dial calipers).
• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Education

• Minimum 2-year CAD degree or equivalent.
• Working electromechanical product knowledge preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• The position requires sitting for extended periods and communicating with factory/shop team members as needed.
