Stretcher Transport Assistant – Non-Emergency Medical Transport (Team Role) Pay: $16.50 /hr + trip bonuses (average $2+ extra/hr) Pay differential: $2 extra / hr after 7:00 PM on weekdays and all day Saturday & Sunday Schedule: Full-time (hours based on daily trip volume; overtime opportunities available) READ BEFORE APPLYING: This is a physically demanding, team-based role assisting with stretcher transports for medically fragile clients. You will work alongside a lead driver as part of a 2-person crew. Clients are non-emergency but higher-acuity , often in weakened condition (e.g., dialysis patients, hospice transports). If you are not comfortable with close patient contact or physically intensive work, this is not the position for you. About the Role: You will assist the lead driver with the safe handling and transport of stretcher-bound clients . This includes proper lifting, transferring, loading/unloading, and securing of equipment while maintaining patient dignity and safety at all times. Key Responsibilities: Assist with bed-to-stretcher and stretcher-to-bed transfers Help safely load, unload, and secure stretcher equipment in the vehicle Support the lead driver during all phases of transport Interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures Communicate clearly with your partner, dispatch, and supervisors NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS (Do Not Apply If You Cannot Meet ALL): Physically able to lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and equipment daily Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods Comfortable working in close contact with medically fragile clients Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours based on trip volume Pass Level II background check (American Healthcare Association standard) and national OIG Exclusions check — NO exceptions Pass DOT physical and Fit-for-Duty test Strong teamwork and communication skills Preferred (or Will Train): CPR/First Aid certification Experience in healthcare, patient care, EMS, or transport Work Environment: Hospitals, dialysis centers, nursing homes, and private residences Frequent exposure to patients in weakened or end-of-life conditions PPE provided and required Benefits: 4% matched 401(k) + additional employer contributions Up to 75% employer-paid medical insurance PTO & paid holidays Who Should Apply: Applicants who are physically capable, dependable, and comfortable working with higher-need patients in a hands-on role .
