Boston Scientific is seeking a motivated R&D software engineer to join our growing Interventional Cardiology R&D team in Arbor Lakes, Minnesota. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of medical device software that supports innovative products designed to sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world.

As an Software Engineer I you will apply your technical, problem-solving and collaboration skills while working alongside cross-functional team members throughout the software development life cycle. This role provides an opportunity to build your technical capabilities, contribute to meaningful product development and support continuous improvement in our software development practices.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This is an on-site role based at our Maple Grove (Arbor Lakes), Minnesota, location. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, implement, test and support medical device software for Windows applications.
• Document software development activities in accordance with approved procedures and standards.
• Create and maintain software development records using approved tracking and management tools.
• Analyze, evaluate and verify software and system requirements using software engineering best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, workflows and development methodologies by collaborating with peers and cross-functional teams.
• Support project activities and collaborate with team members to help meet project goals and timelines.
• Participate in reviews of software design and development activities.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Windows-based software development using Microsoft development tools.
• Working knowledge of C# and C++ or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with the Atlassian toolchain or similar software development and collaboration tools.
• Experience with Windows debugging and memory management tools.
• Understanding of software code optimization techniques.
• Programming skills in Python and/or MATLAB.
• Exposure to developing software that interfaces with custom hardware.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks used to build and test software.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
