Anticipated Shifts: Sun-Thu 6:45am - 3:15pm (Fri & Sat off) Mon-Fri 6:45am - 3:15pm (Sat & Sun off) Tue-Sat 6:45am - 3:15pm (Sun & Mon off) The expected pay for this position is $29.54 (Step 1) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Internal candidate rates will be applied based on the CBA language for promotion and transfer. This series of job classifications describes positions in which the major function is performing a variety of custodial duties, and/or overseeing others who perform custodial duties. Employees perform routine cleaning of floors, floor coverings, furniture, walls, wood-work, etc. They also carry out other facilities services, such as cleaning guest rooms and public areas, replacing lamps in light fixtures and removing trash around building exteriors, etc. In addition, they may also perform light labor and light maintenance duties. Under the direction of a lead or supervisor, employees in this classification perform a variety of custodial duties. The supervisor and/or lead assigns the work and provides instructions; work is reviewed by the supervisor and/or lead to determine whether quality and scheduling requirements have been met. Physical Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s License at most locations. Ability to climb and work from step ladders up to six feet. Constantly stand/walk, twist/bend/stop/squat, perform work which requires light/fine grasping Frequently, reach/work above shoulders, use a telephone, write by hand, grasp forcefully, scrub/sweep/mop/rake, operate hand controls, and/or lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), and/or lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 10-40 pounds. Rarely perform seated work, desk-based computer tasks, and/or sort/file paperwork or parts. Working Conditions: May be required to work variable shifts, days of week, overtime, in various locations, evenings and weekends, including holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions. High exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust and/or other allergens. May work in confined spaces. Required to wear issued and appropriate uniform. Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Required to become a mandatory reporter. Work Standards: When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
