Number of Beds – 6

Type of staff:

• Day Shift – 1 charge nurse & 1 RN/LPN (RN/LPN count varies with census)
• Night Shift – 1 charge nurse & 1 RN/LPN (RN/LPN count varies with census)

Patient Ratios – 1:1-2

Type of equipment – Alaris IV pump/Bair hugger/Kangaroo Feeding Pump/Giraffe infant warmer/Ventilators/BiPap/High Flow O2

EMR – Meditech/Pyxis

Skill Set Most Recruited For:

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

1 year pediatric ICU nursing experience

Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

PICU, NICU experience

Experienced in other women’s health areas (labor and delivery, ob/gyn)

List Typical Procedures Performed on Unit(s):

• Spinal taps
• Titration of critical drips: sedation/vasoactive/paralytic
• Sedated MRI
• EKG/EEG/Telemetry
• Port Access & Discontinuation
• Intubation/Extubation

Patient person who is able to multi task and prioritize tasks effectively

Self-starter

Organized

Required Certifications:

ACLS, BLS, PALS

Floating Area(s): May float to NICU (take low acuity) or Nursery

May float to Ob/gyn if qualified

Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.

Weekends and On Call(if any): Rotating weekends. May work mixed schedule of days/nights/weekends to fill scheduling holes as needed
