Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 2 years within the last 48 months (4 years).

• 24 months of Respiratory Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney.

Required Skills/Experience: Critical care experience required. 1 travel contract required. 300+ bed experience required. Intubation experience required; must be comfortable intubating patients. For floor assignments, minimum 1 year experience; for critical care assignments, minimum 2 years. Must be able to work adult ICU, work the vents, feel confident making suggestions for vent management, read ABGs, and alert critical values.

Required Credentials: NRP required if assigned to NICU.

Unit Details: High-volume workload: approximately 550 minutes per shift, about 15 minutes per treatment, and an average of 13-15 patients per shift. RTs are first line for intubations. Duties include nebulizer treatments, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, and, in ICU, A-line placement, blood gas management, intubations, and bronchoscopies. Uses Servo vents (U and I models). Adult assignments may include pediatric through adult patients; NICU RTs are separate from adult coverage. Common patient disease processes include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer. ICU assignments may have up to 4 airways per therapist.

Shift & Scheduling: May work some weekends. Holidays rotated with permanent staff; every other holiday can be expected. Call: none.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
