Robert Half is partnering with a Sheboygan County client in the recruiting for a Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day payables activity and support timely month-end close preparation. This role will also assist with key inventory/cost accounting functions including supporting costing, bill of materials maintenance, and cycle count processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience in a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounts payable activities, including invoice review, coding, entry, and payment processing
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis
• Prepare and support monthly account reconciliations and variance analyses
• Assist with product costing and cost updates to ensure accurate inventory valuation
• Maintain and update bill of materials data in the ERP system
• Support cycle count programs, investigate inventory discrepancies, and help ensure inventory accuracy
• Partner with operations, purchasing, and production teams to support inventory and cost accounting processes
• Help identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting, and internal controls
• Assist with audit requests and ad hoc reporting as needed

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including AP and month-end close support
• Some experience with costing, inventory accounting, bill of materials, or cycle counts highly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics
