The position involves working in the Operating Room. The average number of cases performed each day is around 7, but this can vary. The team is expanding with the addition of 2 full-time surgeons, which is expected to increase case volume. Common cases include general, orthopedic, GYN, spine, neuro, urology, eyes, and ENT. Scrubbing is required, but it is preferred, not mandatory, for registered nurses. Charge nurse responsibilities will not be assigned to this position. Emergency response time is expected to be 30 minutes for call. Weeknight call is approximately 1-2 times weekly from 7 pm to 7 am. Weekend call is required approximately once per month, with specific rotations detailed. Floating within zones may occur only under rare circumstances. The dress code is blue scrubs, which will be provided. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. This position does not require a BSN. The trauma level for the care setting is 3. This is an acute care division role.
