Material Handling Specialist

Material HandlerJob responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and safe movement and handling of materials throughout the production process. This role involves operating machinery and equipment to transport materials to various production areas, ensuring that all materials are available for manufacturing operations. The Material Handler will also be responsible for assisting in the organization of the warehouse. By effectively managing material flow, this position directly contributes to the overall productivity and efficiency of the manufacturing process.Responsibilities and Duties:Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials to and from production areasLoad and unload materials from trucks and storage areas, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followedCollaborate with production staff to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing processesAdhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environmentWill be required to obtain fork truck licenseAdhere to Copperweld's safety and environmental standardsPosition Requirements:Adherence to the Copperweld Core ValuesWill need to be able to use basic computer skills in company systems (PLEX), email, etc.Manufacturing experience preferredAbility to develop and maintain knowledge, skills, and proficiency to perform multiple machine operationsFlexibility to work on any shift and to include continuous operationsTeam player and self-starterMust have strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with cross-functional teams.Ability to achieve proficiency working with Plex: manufacturing, quality, etc.Ability to accurately conduct Cycle Counts for inventory needsEssential Physical Requirements:The position requires medium-level exertion, including:Standing, walking: Frequent to constantLifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling: Frequent * Note: Certain tasks may occasionally require handling weights exceeding 50 lbs.
