Position Overview

HydroPro Solutions is seeking a dependable, hands-on Field Service Technician to join our Texas service team. No previous water industry or field service experience is required. Training will be provided on the job.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded, comfortable working with tools and technology, and interested in learning a skilled technical role. Our Field Service Technicians travel throughout Texas to assist water utilities with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water meters and monitoring equipment.

This is a field-based position with extensive travel throughout Texas , including frequent overnight stays during the workweek. Technicians may travel approximately three weeks each month. Most work is performed Monday through Friday, with weekend work generally limited to unusual customer or project needs.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, willing to learn, and takes responsibility for their work.

What You'll Do

As part of a small team supervised by the Service Manager, you will receive hands-on training to:

• Install, replace, and troubleshoot water meters and related equipment.
• Install and service pressure monitoring, pump monitoring, and other water utility technology.
• Assist with field projects ranging from individual service calls to larger equipment and meter installations.
• Learn to identify equipment problems and assist with repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting.
• Perform inspections, testing, routine maintenance, and equipment start-ups.
• Work with experienced technicians and utility personnel at customer sites.
• Accurately document work completed in the field.
• Assist customers with basic equipment questions and support as your knowledge and experience grow.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, safety equipment, computers, and other field equipment.
• Climb ground storage tanks and other approved structures to install and maintain equipment.
• Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and work resources.
• Follow company and job-site safety procedures.
• Assist with additional service projects and field work as needed.

What We're Looking For

Experience is not required. We're looking for someone with the right aptitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have a valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record.
• Be dependable and consistently arrive at scheduled job sites and meeting locations on time and prepared to work.
• Be willing and able to travel extensively throughout Texas, including frequent overnight stays.
• Be mechanically minded and comfortable learning to use tools, equipment, and technology.
• Have basic problem-solving skills and an interest in figuring out how things work.
• Be comfortable using computers and learning new software and technology.
• Be able to follow instructions, ask questions, and apply what they learn.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and coworkers.
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
• Take responsibility for assigned work, company equipment, and completing tasks properly.
• Be willing to learn new equipment, systems, and technologies as HydroPro's products and services evolve.

Previous experience in field service, utilities, construction, mechanical work, electrical work, plumbing, telecommunications, maintenance, or a similar hands-on environment is helpful, but not required .

Physical & Work Requirements

This is an active, outdoor field position. Candidates must be able to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and work with tools throughout the workday.
• Work outdoors in Texas weather, including hot, cold, wet, dusty, confined space, and other challenging field conditions.
• Safely use ladders and work at heights of up to approximately 50 feet on ground storage tanks while using provided fall-protection equipment.
• Work safely in and around active water utility facilities and infrastructure.
• Pass required pre-employment drug screening.

Schedule & Travel

Primary workdays are Monday through Friday , although schedules and hours may vary depending on customer and project requirements.

Extensive travel is an essential part of this position. Technicians regularly travel throughout Texas and may spend approximately three weeks per month away from home during the workweek. Overnight accommodations and approved business travel expenses are covered by HydroPro Solutions.
