Trauma Surgeon Opportunity
Extant Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate trauma surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive trauma care and perform emergency surgeries, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Trauma Program:
- 590-bed acute care facility
- Level I trauma center (ACS & state verified)
- Hybrid OR (16 surgical suites, includes 1 designated for trauma)
- 32 bed open ICU (16 surg + 16 medical)
- HCA hospital network of 5 hospitals funnels into Research MC
- Trauma activations avg 3000/yr (20% penetrating)
- General surgery residency with teaching opportunities
- Clinical research opportunities
Trauma Surgeon Criteria:
- Board certified surgery with trauma/surgical critical care fellowship required

Research Medical Center offers medical & health clinic services across three Kansas City locations. Research Medical Center is one of 10 HCA Midwest Health hospitals in Kansas City and surrounding areas. Services include comprehensive burn care, level I stroke designation, accredited chest pain center, level III NICU, regional hand center and pediatric emergency care. Ranked Kansas City's top hospital (according to Leapfrog Group 2014).
