We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Chemist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in North Chicago, IL, 60064 Details of the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- Pay: $29.00- $31.00/hr to start.
- 1- year contract to start with the possibility of extension or conversion based on budget and performance.
- Shift:
- Training is first shift 7:30am- 4:oopm for the first 6 weeks.
- After training- 2 shifts available: 1st- 5:00am- 1:00pm, Monday- Friday.
- 2nd- 2:00pm- 12:30am, either Wednesday- Sat or Sun- Wed.
- Position will mainly be responsible for independently performing and verifying laboratory testing and techniques, troubleshooting analytical methods and instrument issues, resolving technical or logistical obstacles, and ensuring assigned testing is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Responsibilities also include managing time and priorities effectively, identifying and implementing laboratory process improvements, proactively communicating with supervisors and team members to support timely product release, and taking ownership of special projects to meet overall laboratory needs.
- Position will also be responsible for supporting team decision-making and activities, identifying and resolving obstacles to testing completion, maintaining commitments and deadlines, and interfacing with regulatory agencies during audit activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree is required.
- 0-4 years' experience is required within a lab environment.
- Experience with LC, LCMS, GC, GCMS, ICP, Empower, Karl Fischer, dissolution, IR, titrations, and common wet chemical testing is preferred.
- Experience within a GMP environment is preferred.
