Help

• Check work while in progress and when finished to assure supervisors instructions and work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been followed.
• Required to work in an automated work order system for job execution, material consumptions/actuals, and advising leadership of needed changes to task assigned.
• Advises supervisor on status and progress of work, reasons for delays and overall work operations and problems.
• Initiates action to procure needed stock before job commences by reviewing Job orders and working with Planners and Estimators and Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of an Pipefitter Leader without more than normal supervision. Duties include assigning tasks to a team of workers, monitoring task progress on routine pipefitting and plumbing repairs, and reviewing basic work orders and plans to ensure tools and materials are available.assigning tasks to workers, tracking progress on routine piping repairs, and reviewing basic work orders to ensure required tools and materials are ready. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)

• Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.

• Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)
• Troubleshooting

• Physical Effort: May work on elevated equipment and in awkward positions; may bend, stoop, kneel or climb and occasionally lift heavy objects.
• Working Conditions: May be exposed to possibility of burns from hot water or steam from leaking high pressure steam lines; and strains, cuts, and bruises when working with tools. Work sites are dirty, dusty, and poorly heated, cooled, and ventilated. Some of the work is performed in an office setting.

• Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
• Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 Year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
• Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
