In the picturesque backdrop of Scottsdale, your role as a Speech Language Pathologist transcends the boundaries of treatment for communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will unlock new capabilities, restore self-esteem, and foster lasting connections across generations — from the spirited laughter of toddlers articulating their first words to the inspiring resilience of seniors reclaiming their independence.
This is more than just a job; it's a chance to engage with an array of individuals throughout the life continuum in an environment that artfully merges outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient setting. No matter where your passions lie—whether in nurturing childhood language acquisition, addressing adult neurogenic communication challenges, or aiding older adults with cognitive and linguistic rehabilitation—you will discover both satisfaction and adaptability in your work here.
Description
- Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing standardized instruments and insightful observations.
- Create tailored treatment blueprints addressing both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions concentrating on various aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to facilitate progress and growth beyond clinical interactions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Keep detailed documentation that complies with all relevant state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Remain engaged with field innovations through ongoing education and collaborative efforts with peers.

- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for diverse age groups with a solid grasp of speech, language, and swallowing disorders—both developmental and acquired.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and collaborative care teams.
- Adaptability in therapy approaches to cater to varied cultural and linguistic needs.
- Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records as well as documentation practices.
Benefits
- Competitive salary reflective of experience and expertise.
- Flexibility in scheduling to promote a healthy work-life balance along with diverse caseloads.
- Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.

As part of this compassionate team, you'll experience relationships akin to family, within a setting that thrives on unity over rivalry. Every patient has a remarkable narrative; you will play a crucial role in how it is conveyed.
