Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist

What You Will Do:
- Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
- Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy.
- Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred).
Work Experience: Less than 1 year Entry level (Required).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.
- Takes responsibility for self-development.
- Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
- Display initiative to perform job duties.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Competent on venipuncture for all ages.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred Upon Hire)
