Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist

A Brief Overview Joining our team comes with several benefits, including: competitive hourly rate, sign on bonus, free parking, and tuition reimbursement. Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.

What You Will Do:

  • Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
  • Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy.
  • Processes specimens for laboratory testing.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred).

Work Experience: Less than 1 year Entry level (Required).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development.
  • Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Display initiative to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Competent on venipuncture for all ages.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
  • Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred Upon Hire)
