About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (12-Hour Nights)

Yakima, WA | Intermediate Care / PCU / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Weekend rotation expected (minimum 2 weekends/month; weekend nights defined as Friday and Saturday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an intermediate/PCU/stepdown setting serving a high-acuity, diverse patient population including general medical, cardiac, and oncology diagnoses
• Perform and monitor post-cath lab procedures including TR band management, stent placement follow-up, and q15-minute checks on fresh cath patients (no sheaths; no art lines)
• Manage and titrate cardiac and diuretic drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Perform skilled nursing procedures including trach care , chest tube management , central line maintenance, and care for patients on BiPAP and high-flow O2
• Read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms; provide care for cardiac patients including CHF, MI, AFib with RVR, NSTEMI, and chest pain
• Float within scope throughout the hospital as needed; may care for patients with oncology diagnoses (chemo administration not required unless specified)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years total RN experience including 1 year of PCU experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must be comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation, BiPAP/high-flow O2 patients, and titratable drip management (diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, Lasix)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-cath lab patient care including TR bands and stent placements
• Familiarity with oncology patient populations (leukemia, neutropenia, etc.)
• Spanish language proficiency preferred given a high Spanish-speaking patient population
• Experience serving underserved or charity care populations; compassionate, patient-centered approach strongly valued
