Join the Staff Management | SMX team at Flex-N-Gate, a leading manufacturer, in the Effingham, IL, area as a Forklift Operator. This is a full-time warehouse opportunity available for 2nd shift. Monday - Friday with overtime as needed. The ideal candidate must have 3-4 years of experience with stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

Shifts: 2nd Shift. Employment Types: Full Time, Temp to Hire. Pay Rate: $22.50 - $23.50 / hour.

Duties: Forklift Operators will have the following responsibilities and skills:

• Transport empty packaging to operators, move full packaging from designated areas, and provide assistance with packaging to press operators.
• Place full packaging in the proper areas in the plant or in the outside storage area. Must practice extremely safe driving habits at all times.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while complying with the departmental procedures regarding safety and environmental policies.
• Deliver packaging and materials in a timely and safe manner to the press operators.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
• Constantly sitting while driving and operating a forklift to move product throughout the facility.
• Works inside and outside, moving product. May work in adverse weather (cold, heat, rain, etc.)
• Frequently climbs in and out of the forklift. Step height to first step is 20 inches; second step is 10 inches.
• Must be able to use both hands for safe operation of the forklift. Steering wheel with levers controlled by the right hand. Constant pedaling with the right foot.
• At least 50% of the driving of the forklift is backwards. The operator must have a full range of motion of the neck and spine so that the operator can look behind the forklift while driving backwards and up and down while moving product.
• The operator must change a 45-pound propane cylinder on the back of the forklift once per shift; height up to 50 inches.
• Ability to twist, bend, and reach
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to work within deadlines
• High attention to detail and an organized approach
• Ability to work overtime, when required

Position Requirements:

• Must have 3-4 years of stand-up and sit-down forklift experience
• Good attendance is critical. Must be willing and able to work any shift, including overtime as needed, with little or no notice.
• Must be able to obtain and sustain a forklift license issued by Flex N Gate within 30 days and sustain an excellent driving record.
• Previous Shipping/Receiving experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated good planning abilities.
• Proficient in mathematics, read and understand instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish team goals

Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Must be at least 18 years old. Able to Lift 49 pounds., required education: HS Diploma or GED.
