What You'll Do

• Provide specialized inpatient nursing care for adult hematology and leukemia patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes.
• Manage patient care plans including IV therapy, blood draws, PICC line, and central line management.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, utilizing Telemetry/EPIC systems.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and care plans.

What You Need

• Required:
  
  
  • Valid Ohio nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo Certification
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience, including MS Oncology and inpatient hematology/oncology
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and line management
• Preferred:

  • Experience with infection control and patient safety protocols

About the Assignment
This position is located at a leading healthcare facility in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in acute leukemia and hematology patient care. The unit has a high volume of blood products and IV therapies, with staffing ratios typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5. The role offers a flexible schedule with initial orientation, followed by shifts tailored to department needs.
