Summary / Objective The CNC machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, runs production lots, communicates with co‑workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, clean work environment while adhering to quality standards. Essential Functions Perform all assigned machine shop operations. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition following Shift Hand‑Off procedures and safety procedures. Regularly perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de‑burring, sawing, and sanding tasks. Perform quality inspection of machined products and document results according to quality standards. Complete and maintain quality paperwork for parts. Assist in other work areas such as fabrication, lay‑out of parts, coolant filtration, and burnishing tasks. Follow all company rules, quality standards, and safety policies (OSHA). Ensure production schedule completion and facilitate quality paperwork. Competencies Communication proficiency. Work Environment The team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be high. Physical Demands The responsibilities require frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of objects up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. The team member also regularly requires talking and hearing. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time hourly position. Hours of work and days are determined by production schedules and the reporting manager. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school. Minimum one year of related experience. Proficiency in reading a measuring tape, micrometers and calipers. Preferred Education and Experience Two or more years of related experience. Work Authorization / Security Clearance The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
