BUS DRIVER/UTILITY PERSON - 6hrs Bus Driver/2hrs Utility Person/10 MONTHS

Bus Driver/Utility Person

Bus Driver/Utility Person 6 hrs/2 hrs - 10 months 6:15 am – 4 pm

Qualifications:

  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed below.
  • Drive a school bus safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-trip safety inspections; report mechanical malfunctions as required.
  • Learn and apply policies and procedures related to student discipline on buses.
  • Maintain a safe discipline level among passengers.
  • Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Learn and follow designated routes.
  • Maintain bus in clean and proper working condition.
  • Administer first aid.
  • Maintain routine records.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Meet schedules and time lines.
  • Operate a two-way radio.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Observe health and safety regulations.
  • Perform moderately to heavy manual activities.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, the public and maintain a positive team attitude.
  • Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency.
  • Valid California Class A or B driver's license with appropriate passenger and air brake endorsements.
  • Valid School Bus Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol.
  • Valid Medical Examiners Certificate for commercial drivers.

Classified Salary Schedule – Excellent health benefits package included. Range 31- Bus Driver Step 1 - $24.08 Step 2 - $25.28 Step 3 - $26.55 Step 4 - $27.87 Step 5 - $29.27 Range 24- Utility Person Step 1 - $20.26 Step 2 - $21.27 Step 3 - $22.33 Step 4 - $23.45 Step 5 - $24.62
