Summary This position is a Wildlife Refuge Manager (GS‑0485-12) located in Burbank, Washington, serving the R1‑Central WA NWR Complex. Additional vacancies may be filled at other U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service offices in the local commuting area. Major Duties Plan, manage, evaluate, and carry out the maintenance and biological program at the assigned refuge. Oversee, administer, and develop required NEPA documentation, including Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Findings of No Significant Impact, Categorical Exclusions, ESA Section 7 consultations, and cultural resource clearances. Update, prioritize, manage, and utilize automated systems for budget tracking, procurement, time and attendance, and asset inventories/maintenance. Administer the facilities and equipment management program; develop work plans and organize projects covering construction, repair and maintenance of equipment, buildings, roads, trails, fences, and other infrastructure. Supervise a team of professional, technical, analytical, and administrative support staff, setting a high‑professional standards attitude and ensuring accurate, high‑quality work. Assist with the Fire Management Program and serve as alternate Bureau Representative to ensure rapid response for prescribed or wildfire emergencies at the refuge. Coordinate fire response efforts with surrounding communities. Education The position has a positive education requirement. Candidates must submit a copy of all college transcripts or a comprehensive list of all college courses with hours and grades from an accredited U.S. college or university. Official transcripts must be received before appointment. For foreign education credentials, applicants must provide documentation that a recognized evaluation agency has determined equivalence to an accredited U.S. program or that full credit has been granted for those courses.
