Refresh Dental is immediately seeking a dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our clinical team. This role is essential for delivering high-quality, efficient patient care by performing advanced restorative and clinical duties under the direction of the dentist.

Requirements

Certification: Valid EFDA Certification (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant).
Experience: Demonstrated ability to perform expanded duties, including the placement of fillings and adaptation of temporary crowns.
Patient Care: Proven experience in direct patient care, including post-operative care and providing patient emergency assistance.
Compliance: Strong working knowledge of state healthcare regulations, healthcare compliance, and meticulous dental sterilization procedures.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent patient interaction skills for effective chairside assisting and health education.

Job Description

Expanded Duties: Perform expanded functions as permitted by state regulations, which include the placement of dental fillings (e.g., amalgam), and adaptation of temporary crowns.
Clinical Support: Provide efficient chairside assisting during clinical procedures and patient treatment.
Post-Operative Care: Provide post-operative instructions prescribed by the dentist and perform procedures such as suture removal.
Preventative Care: Apply topical fluoride treatments and educate patients on optimal oral hygiene (health education and counseling).
Documentation: Record and review patient health history, ensure accurate chart entries, and manage patient records in dental software.
Safety & Compliance: Assist the dentist in the management of patient emergencies, ensure dental sterilization procedures are meticulously followed, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the practice.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace both in and outside the dental practice

Shift & Schedule

Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: On-site.
