Full-Time Cook Red Cedar Lodge, Lansing, MI, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 2296 Full-Time Cook Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living is seeking a dependable, caring, and team-oriented Full-Time Cook to join our dining services team. The Cook will prepare nutritious, appealing meals for our residents while helping create a warm and welcoming dining experience. Responsibilities Prepare and cook daily meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements. Prepare meals that are nutritious, flavorful, and appropriate for senior residents. Accommodate special diets, food allergies, and individual dietary needs as directed. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food-preparation areas. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures. Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies. Monitor food quality, portion sizes, temperatures, and presentation. Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive meals in a timely and courteous manner. Communicate effective with dining services staff, caregivers, and other members of the senior living team. Help maintain adequate inventory and notify management of needed supplies. Perform other kitchen and dining-service duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred. Experience working in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional food service is a plus. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions accurately. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. Friendly, respectful, and patient approach when interacting with older adults. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry kitchen supplies as required.
