What You’ll Be Doing: Leading family law cases from start to finish —no second chair here! Handling divorce, will contests, prenuptial agreements, mediation, paternity, child custody, alimony, and property division with precision. Advocating fiercely in cases involving child abuse, domestic violence, hidden assets, and complex custody disputes. Bringing strategic thinking and compassion to every case you touch. Responsibilities: Serve people with compassion and always put the well-being of children first. Strictly observe deadlines and billable hour requirements. Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed. Represent clients in court proceedings as needed. Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date. Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases. Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action. Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process. Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law in good standing in Texas for at least 5 years. Must have prior litigation experience and success. Must have high moral and ethical standards. Must have at least 5 years of experience in a litigation role. Must have a passionate desire to help families in child custody fights and domestic violence cases. Must maintain a positive attitude even under stress. Must be a true team player, willing to pitch in and contribute wherever needed. Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations. 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position. Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants. Compensation: $85,000 - $93,500 yearly About Laura D.
