divh2PRN Cook/h2pPerforms a variety of food production duties under general supervision./ppShift Details: PRN (no guaranteed hours, 0-40 hrs/wk) This is a PRN Cook position. They will be responsible for covering shifts at the three Primary Children Hospital (PCH) locations (Taylorsville, SLC, and Lehi). Incumbent will be working various cook shifts as needed. This could include but is not limited to morning, afternoon, evenings, weekdays, weekends, room service, cafe, etc. Most PRN caregivers work 2-4 shifts per week, depending on the department/facility needs./ppAdditional Details: Prior cooking experience is preferred. This position will be based out of PCH Taylorsville, but will need to be available to travel and work shifts at SLC and Lehi as well./ph3Qualifications/h3ulliFood Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho)./liliDemonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English./liliDemonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team./liliDemonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques, in all applications/liliUnderstands workflow, prioritizes, uses timelines, understands deadlines/liliDemonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred)/liliUnderstands and prepares food according to modified diets using appropriate techniques where applicable (preferred)/liliDemonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment (preferred)/li/ulh3Essential Functions/h3ulliThis position prepares and cooks food, serves customers, completes other duties as assigned./liliFollows recipes and/or instructions in the preparation of food items/liliMay prepare bulk food items, large scale production, line cook or complete assembly of specialty meals and catered items/liliMaintains an organized and sanitary working environment/liliMaintains proper quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product/liliInteracts with customers in any venue-catering, retail outlets or patient care/liliMay be required to deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, use automatic and manual ware-washing machines/li/ulh3Skills/h3ulliFood Handling/liliFood Safety and Sanitation/liliFood Production/liliFollows Instructions/liliRecipes ability to understand and execute/liliReading/liliOrganizing/liliCommunication/li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs./liliFrequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately./liliManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use./liliExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
