Medical Assistant I

Medical Assistant Responsible for assisting physicians with basic patient care and providing unparallel customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes and volume without ever compromising quality. Essential Functions: Basic rooming, along with creating surgery orders & x-ray orders Phreesia/MIPS Input Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable Assist physician as needed during procedure; monitor patient in recovery area Ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient's file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of pain/injury/disease, home treatments and special diets using appropriate medical terminology as directed by the physician Ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls/messages and assist with their needs Assist front desk with rescheduling patients OSHA sign off lists Required Qualifications and Skills: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 2 years working as a medical assistant preferred Strong focus on patient quality and customer service Excellent follow through to see tasks to completion Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision Desired Qualifications and Skills: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Experience with Allscripts Pay & Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Generous PTO package and paid holidays Company-paid life insurance and long term disability insurance Ability to purchase accident insurance, short and long-term disability insurance.
